While making art is my passion it is ALWAYS nice to be acknowledged for your work by an expert – SO – I am thrilled to announce that one of my works has once again been featured in the “New This Week” collection at Saatchi Art by the Chief curator and Director Rebecca Wilson. As always this is an honor be have a work included in one of just 52 collections a year and in this particular collection there are only 114 works! You can check my Saatchi Art shop to see all my work. Thank you!
What a great way to start 2020!
Having sold hundreds of abstract expressionist paintings – which can be found in private collections all over the world on 5 continents and 25 plus countries – I can tell you that I am honored knowing that my art resonates with such a variety of people. I have sold works directly to young professionals who are just starting their collections and told me that they are “finally ready for some art.” I have had seasoned collectors contact me directly as well to inquire about my work. I recall one Japanese college student who purchase a work for her room. I have done the artwork for entire homes (I will have a posting on that shortly) with 15 commissioned works! I have done huge commissions for lofts and Hollywood hills homes…this is just a tiny fraction of the varied collectors Lee and I have worked with.
This however is a new first for me – Saatchi Art’s Best Of The Year for 2019. This collection was curated by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Aurora Garrison. Thank you very much Aurora for adding my work to this collection. This is a very important collection as there are literally hundreds of thousands of works on the Saatchi Art website and just 109 works included so I am in fine company.
The very same week one of my works was selected by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Megan Wright to be included in the Saatchi Art’s collection of artworks using the color to illustrating the new Pantone color of the year which is Classic Blue. Thank you very much Megan, it is an honor to be included the collection of just 90 works!
What a great way to start the new year being included in these 2 collections! I am so excited about 2020 and all the great things that are going to happen. Thank you very much!
Well another year has come and I continue my journey as a full-time artist. Reflecting on the past year I would like to thank all of the wonderful collectors who purchased my artwork or had a commission done!
I would also like to thank the galleries who assist in selling my work by exposing it to a vast worldwide audience who would otherwise not be able to enjoy it.
So now that the busy holiday season is coming to a close I think I will kick back in the studio and relax for a moment – I think I deserve it!
Speaking of deserving – don’t you think that new art is just what YOU deserve to start 2020 – a totally new decade?
Hope to work with you again (or for the first time) in 2020!
Nestor Toro – Dec 31, 2019
This month has flown by so quickly and I would like to thank each of the wonderful collectors who have recently purchased my work and to all those who have collected my work this year (and in years gone bye)! I have been shipping art out everyday this month! Wonderful to know that so many are giving the gift of fine art to someone they love – even if that someone is themselves!
I had the privilege of working with some of the Saatchi Art team at the headquarters in Santa Monica. This was on December 19th and I was there being filmed painting a couple of works. Look for me online at Saatchi Art. Oh and that after my work had been not only featured in the head curator’s New This Week but I was also honored to have had my work included in the printed Saatchi Art 2019 Holiday catalog.
I have many events in the works for 2020 including attending The Other Art Fair in a different city than my home city of Los Angeles ( I had a show there in 2018 ) so watch for news about that some and perhaps I will be close to you. If so that would be great to meet you! You can also view some of my artwork in person as photographs can not really do a painting (mine or anyone’s) justice.
Well I have to get back to it…just a few more days until Christmas and on to the New Year!!
Saatchi art is one of the biggest online fine art galleries and they represent me and expose my work to a worldwide audience – so – you can imagine how excited I was when they contacted me to tell me that my work would be included in the special Holiday 2019 print edition of the catalog! This is such an honor and a dream I have had for years! It’s wonderful to be recognized and included in such a select group of artists represented in this publication!
Thank you to Rebecca Wilson – Saatchi Art’s Chief Curator and Director for this great honor and for exposing my work to an even larger audience!

A collector has purchased my work Daydream Panorama 3 (Blinding Lights) which is part of a continuing series I call “Daydream Panorama” with this triptych being the third in the series. This work was purchased by a collector via Saatchi art gallery and is a triptych made up of three 20×16 inch canvases. Thank you – Nestor
Bright colors! Explosion of color over deep blue background! Pink, neon pink, yellow gold, green and bright orange. This painting arrives ready to hang and signed in front. Being a triptych work means that you can hang the canvases at different distances depending on your needs and preferences. As you can see they look balanced together or with a space between them!
This has been a very well received series so if you would like to see more I invite you to visit my SHOP to view all of the available works.
You are certain to find a few that interest you!
I am thrilled to announce that one of my works has been included in Rebecca Wilson’s – Saatchi Art’s Head Curator and Director “New This Week” collection for November 4, 2019!! Here is the work on the collection page at Saatchi Art
There are only 93 works included so you know that I am honored to have one of those spaces out of tens of thousands of potential artists! I am even more honored as this is the 4th time this year that I have been included in this rather “exclusive” list – which it really is again considering the massive numbers of works and artists worldwide!
The work is called Celeste Terrain (Amethysts reflections) and is 22×28 inches and comes ready to hang with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. This work has been selected for an honor so why not be the new owner? Check out photos of the work below – Thank you – Nestor Toro 2019 Los Angeles
Here is the work featured in the collection.
I was contacted by an art consultant in Miami who wanted to purchase Verdor (Maritime Forest) for a new home she was working on. She wanted artwork from an emerging artist and when she came across my artwork she knew that she had found what she was looking for. For her first purchase she choose my work Verdor (Maritime Forest) which is a work that was suited to the project.
The work is hung vertically and is 48×36 so it makes quite the statement! Nature inspired – Minimalist abstract green, blue, and a splash of other colors! Calming and contemplative. As you can see this work makes quite the statement! Thank you – Nestor Toro / Los Angeles / 2019
DETAIL – Verdor (Maritime Forest) by Nestor Toro – SOLD
Happy to share the news that my work How The Light Gets In was sold to a collector recently via Saatchi art gallery! The collector is right here in my current home state California! As you can see from my posts I sell worldwide and as in this case right here in the USA! Thank you! Nestor Toro in Los Angeles – 2019.
This work is 20×16 inches and is acrylic on canvas and was painted in 2017.
As you can see from the photo above a small work such as this one measuring 20×16 inches can make a dramatic statement! Just look at the color and movement that this work brings to this area! The wonderful thing about abstracts is that they each speak to each viewer and say something different. One work might appeal to you while another might not – and that’s OK!
No one sees the world the way you do – your unique viewpoint makes you who you are! Enjoy that and make a statement with the artwork you bring into your home or office!
Nestor Toro – 2019
I am always excited and happy to sell an artwork and even more so when the collector is the very first in a country so I am thrilled to announce the sale of Drizzles in Motion #2 to a collector in Dubai! The work was sold via Saatchi art gallery – Thank you – Nestor Toro / Los Angeles – 2019
This work is done in one of my signature styles I call “Drizzles” which is done in a very gestural manner capturing motion and movement on the canvas. Hypnotic dark iridescent blue background and deep color drips for this very contemplative painting. Colors include red, orange, green, blues, gold and lots of yellow. Very expressive abstract painting.
Done on a high quality loose canvas, shipped rolled in a tube. Simply take it to your local framer to have it mounted. Since it is loose canvas there are an infinite variety of framing methods. Simply pick the one that is best suited from the intended installation area. Plenty of edge left for framing! This canvas measures 26 x 22 inches
Don’t you deserve some original art in your life? Isn’t it time that you invested in yourself?
It is always rewarding to have a painting sold and especially so when the work is newly created and only offered for a week! Such is the case with my work titled “Daring Spectra” which was acquired via Artfinder art gallery by a collector in Washington D.C. – Thank you Jeffrey and enjoy your new artwork! Nestor Toro – Los Angeles / 2019
IMPACTFUL BOLD ABSTRACT!
Abstract expressionistic impactful color combination, all with gold shine! this painting has a metallic finish. Yellow gold, red gold, blue, orange and indigo gold.
This painting arrives in a tube with plenty of edge for an inch deep. Signed in front. The work measures 47 x 33 inches.
Imagine owning a statement work such as this one – each day bringing positive energy and beauty into your home with an active and vibrant work such as this!
I am happy to announce that I have sold yet another work via Saatchi Art gallery! This work is the second in my series “Fugitive Imagination of which there are 4.” Fugitive Imagination 2 and is done in one of my signature styles that I refer to as “drizzles.” The work is 31 x 61 inches and made from the highest professional quality acrylics. The work is a LARGE IMPACTFUL PAINTING! It is a bold nature inspired action packed painting. Many colors pale yellow, crimson, teal, pink, over bright emerald background.
I would like to thank Liddy from San Diego!
This dynamic work is very textured, Signed in front and PLENTY of edge for framing. I include a certificate of authenticity that lists the materials as well as when the painting was completed.
