The color palette of A Ghostly Garden is a mesmerizing array of hues, evoking the ghostly ambiance of a spectral garden under moonlight. The background features a deep, twilight blue, creating a rich foundation that feels like a night sky shrouding the garden in mystery. Over this, Toro layers a dense array of vertical strokes in a spectrum of ethereal tones—soft whites, electric blues, and deep blacks cascade down the canvas like ghostly apparitions of flora, their vibrancy capturing the essence of a garden that exists between worlds. Accents of fiery red and soft yellow weave through the composition, adding a sense of depth and contrast that feels both eerie and captivating, as if the ghostly plants are glowing faintly in the dark. Small splashes of white and pale gray dot the surface, resembling spectral blooms or wisps of mist, enhancing the painting’s haunting, ghostly quality. The colors seem to pulse with energy, creating a rhythmic flow that feels alive and otherworldly, drawing the viewer into a spectral garden.
