The color palette of Strange Spectra 6 (Over Red) is a vibrant array of hues, evoking a strange, spectral landscape set against a fiery red backdrop. Each canvas features a rich, bright red foundation, creating a cohesive base that feels like a blazing, otherworldly sky or terrain. Over this, Toro layers a dense array of vertical strokes in a spectrum of vivid tones—electric blues, bright greens, and golden yellows cascade down the canvases like spectral forms, their vibrancy contrasting strikingly with the red and capturing the essence of a strange, ethereal scene. Accents of deep purple and soft white weave through the composition, adding a sense of depth and contrast that feels both intense and harmonious, as if the spectral elements are shimmering over the bright red expanse. Small splashes of black and pale cyan dot the surface, resembling bursts of light or spectral particles, enhancing the painting’s radiant, otherworldly quality. The colors seem to pulse with energy across the three panels, creating a rhythmic flow that feels alive and interconnected, drawing the viewer into a strange, spectral world.

Toro’s technique is textured and spontaneous, with layered, dripping strokes that add a tactile quality, inviting closer inspection. The vertical marks evoke a sense of movement and spectral motion, as if the strange forms are dancing over the red canvas.
