Nestor Toro’s Verdor Spectra (Vertical Garden) draws influence from the expressive, textured styles of abstract artists like Joan Mitchell and Anselm Kiefer. Toro mirrors Mitchell’s bold, gestural application of paint with a large palette knife, creating a sense of organic movement that feels alive, much like a garden swaying in the breeze. Kiefer’s influence is felt in the layered complexity and earthy undertones, as Toro builds depth through thin, translucent layers that evoke the natural world. The use of iridescent reflective green adds a contemporary, luminous quality, resulting in a work that feels both timeless and modern—an ideal acquisition for collectors who appreciate the intersection of nature and abstraction in art.

Bright green accents burst forth with vitality, evoking the freshness of new growth, while Indian yellow adds a warm, sunlit glow, illuminating the composition like sunlight filtering through leaves. Iridescent reflective green shimmers across the canvas, catching the light with a prismatic glow, enhancing the painting’s dimensional quality. Applied with a large palette knife, the textured layers create a tactile surface that changes in tone with different light and directions, inviting viewers to explore the intricate blending of colors that give the piece its vibrant, garden-like essence.
