Description
Introducing “What Lies In Between,” an original abstract painting by the LA artist Nestor Toro, measuring a captivating 40 x 30 inches painted in 2015.

The painting unfolds like a visual meditation on the spaces in between, with a palette that transitions like a dreamscape. Lush greens and yellows dominate the canvas, sweeping across in horizontal strokes that evoke the vibrancy of a natural landscape, their richness amplified by the large palette knife’s bold, textured strokes. These earthy hues are interwoven with deep blues and purples, which flow through the composition like a twilight sky or a shadowy void, adding a sense of mystery and depth. Subtle hints of pink and orange emerge like fleeting moments of warmth, suggesting the glow of a distant horizon, while patches of white and teal provide a cooling contrast, enhancing the painting’s ethereal quality.
The glossy finish amplifies the artwork’s luminous quality, making the colors shimmer with a radiant, almost otherworldly intensity that feels both grounded and transcendent. Toro’s use of a large palette knife creates a richly textured surface, with each stroke capturing the emotional weight of the spaces between. “What Lies In Between” is a visual journey, blending color and form in a way that invites viewers to explore the unseen and the unknown.
