Patrons of the arts are those who contribute to an artist’s career and ultimately the artists ability to work on their work. I have some steady collectors that I refer to as my patrons. These are collectors who buy my artwork on a regular basis. It is not easy to be a working artist as you might imagine. With so many talented artists out there it is difficult to stand out so I am always grateful when someone buys my art and those who purchase on a steady basis.

The collector who bought the work I certainly consider one of my patrons. Anne from Wimberley Texas recently bought this artwork called Infinity Landscape. The work is 40 x 30 inches. There is a story behind this. I was setting up for my latest exhibition being one of the artists who participated in The Other Art Fair in March 2018 and I had chosen this work to be one of the dozen or so paintings out of several hundred. While I was in setting for the event I received a message on my phone telling me the work had just been purchased…at who bought it, that’s right Anne!

So as an added bonus Anne’s new work was viewed in person by several thousand art lovers over the show weekend. Thank you Anne – Nestor Toro – Los Angeles

I am used to selling art all over the world thanks to the internet allowing me to be exposed to a larger number of people than I could ever be seen by in a physical gallery so it’s always great to meet people in “real life”! I was contacted by a collector visiting Los Angeles on business and had seen my work online. This was an opportunity to view the artwork in person and ask questions. Lee and I showed him a ton of work – another perk of visiting – and he ended up buying 6 painting. I have “warned” you guys before that studio visits usually end up with you buying even more than you intended because my work really needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
