The color palette of Sequel of a Dream 1 is a vibrant array of hues, evoking the fluid, dreamlike quality of a surreal landscape. Each canvas features a deep, twilight blue as its foundation, creating a cohesive backdrop that feels like a dream unfolding under a starry sky. Over this, Toro layers a dense array of vertical strokes in a spectrum of vivid tones—electric blues, bright greens, and golden yellows cascade down the canvases like elements of a dream in motion, their vibrancy capturing the essence of a fantastical sequence.

Accents of fiery red and soft purple weave through the composition, adding a sense of depth and contrast that feels both intense and harmonious, as if the dream is shifting across the panels. Small splashes of white and pale cyan dot the surface, resembling bursts of light or ethereal particles, enhancing the painting’s radiant, dreamlike quality.

Toro’s technique is textured and spontaneous, with layered, dripping strokes that add a tactile quality, inviting closer inspection. The vertical marks evoke a sense of movement and fluidity, as if the dream is unfolding across the expansive work.
