Created on a hand-cut canvas, this piece measures 72W x 40H inches unframed and will stretch to approximately 70W x 38H inches, offering a commanding presence that transforms any space. Signed on the front, this artwork showcases Toro’s distinctive ability to blend emotional depth with vibrant abstraction, making it an irresistible addition for collectors seeking a piece that evokes both mystery and beauty.

Nestor Toro’s Walking In My Sleep draws inspiration from the expressive, textured styles of abstract artists like Mark Rothko and Cy Twombly. Toro mirrors Rothko’s ability to create emotional resonance through layered color fields, using a large palette knife to build depth and intensity that feels like a subconscious wander. Twombly’s influence is evident in the fine, gestural drizzles of iridescent red and silver that dance across the canvas, adding a sense of spontaneity and poetic movement. Toro’s contemporary approach infuses these influences with a vibrant, dreamlike quality, resulting in a work that feels both timeless and modern—an ideal acquisition for collectors who appreciate the intersection of emotion and abstraction in art.

The color palette of Walking In My Sleep is a captivating blend of dark and luminous tones, with a foundation of deep black that sets a moody, nocturnal tone, evoking the stillness of a dream. Layers of bright pink and light pink burst through the darkness, their vivid hues creating a sense of warmth and vitality, like fleeting thoughts in a dreamscape. Splashes of yellow add a touch of radiance, illuminating the composition like glimmers of consciousness, while fine drizzles of iridescent red and silver weave through the layers, their reflective quality catching the light and adding a shimmering, otherworldly effect. Applied with a large palette knife, the textured layers create a tactile surface that invites closer inspection, revealing the intricate blending of colors that give the piece its dreamlike, surreal quality.

This artwork’s expansive scale and emotive palette make it a perfect focal point for a modern living space, gallery, or contemplative setting. The iridescent drizzles ensure the painting transforms with the light, offering a dynamic viewing experience that evolves with every glance. Walking In My Sleep is more than a painting—it’s a journey into the subconscious, a work that captures the beauty of dreams in vibrant, textured form.

For the discerning collector, Walking In My Sleep offers a rare opportunity to own a piece that combines emotional depth with visual splendor.
