I am happy to announce that my work A Closer Look (More is More) has been sold to a collector in the United Kingdom and will soon be heading across the country and the Atlantic ocean! It is always exciting to have a work sold and heading out of the country. This work is part of the popular “A Closer Look” which is ongoing. The work is done in one of my signature styles that I call “Drizzles”. It measures 69×40 inches and was painted in 2019. The work was sold at Saatchi Art! You can check out all of the works sold in 2020 thus far – Here.

Thank you – Nestor Toro

Textured abstract with bold and contrasting color clashes. Vibrant orange and bright blue with lush gold, blue and random color drips applied in sequence.

The year is moving along so quickly that it is hard to believe that we are already a month and half into 2020! This year is already off the an exciting start with 16 works already sold as of February 13th. I am always happy to be discovered by new collectors who are seeking out independent artists such as myself by doing their own research and buying what they themselves appreciate on a deeper level of actually wanting to own the work! Thank you so much for the support!

If you would like to see a gallery of the works sold so far in 2020 click the link and after I welcome you to visit my shop where you will be offered a coupon which is good for a FULL 20% off the painting of your choice so it’s a great time to buy your first “Nestor Toro” or if you are already a valued collector a new “Nestor Toro” to add to the collection!

While making art is my passion it is ALWAYS nice to be acknowledged for your work by an expert – SO – I am thrilled to announce that one of my works has once again been featured in the “New This Week” collection at Saatchi Art by the Chief curator and Director Rebecca Wilson. As always this is an honor be have a work included in one of just 52 collections a year and in this particular collection there are only 114 works! You can check my Saatchi Art shop to see all my work. Thank you!

You can check this work out here in my shop. 2020 is starting off strong and I am expecting the most active year to date with such strong interest in my work! One of my works was chosen as the Best of the Year for 2019

What a great way to start 2020!

Having sold hundreds of abstract expressionist paintings – which can be found in private collections all over the world on 5 continents and 25 plus countries – I can tell you that I am honored knowing that my art resonates with such a variety of people. I have sold works directly to young professionals who are just starting their collections and told me that they are “finally ready for some art.” I have had seasoned collectors contact me directly as well to inquire about my work. I recall one Japanese college student who purchase a work for her room. I have done the artwork for entire homes (I will have a posting on that shortly) with 15 commissioned works! I have done huge commissions for lofts and Hollywood hills homes…this is just a tiny fraction of the varied collectors Lee and I have worked with.

This however is a new first for me – Saatchi Art’s Best Of The Year for 2019. This collection was curated by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Aurora Garrison. Thank you very much Aurora for adding my work to this collection. This is a very important collection as there are literally hundreds of thousands of works on the Saatchi Art website and just 109 works included so I am in fine company.

The very same week one of my works was selected by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Megan Wright to be included in the Saatchi Art’s collection of artworks using the color to illustrating the new Pantone color of the year which is Classic Blue. Thank you very much Megan, it is an honor to be included the collection of just 90 works!

What a great way to start the new year being included in these 2 collections! I am so excited about 2020 and all the great things that are going to happen. Thank you very much!

Well another year has come and I continue my journey as a full-time artist. Reflecting on the past year I would like to thank all of the wonderful collectors who purchased my artwork or had a commission done!

I would also like to thank the galleries who assist in selling my work by exposing it to a vast worldwide audience who would otherwise not be able to enjoy it.

So now that the busy holiday season is coming to a close I think I will kick back in the studio and relax for a moment – I think I deserve it!

Speaking of deserving – don’t you think that new art is just what YOU deserve to start 2020 – a totally new decade?

Hope to work with you again (or for the first time) in 2020!

Nestor Toro – Dec 31, 2019

WOW!

This month has flown by so quickly and I would like to thank each of the wonderful collectors who have recently purchased my work and to all those who have collected my work this year (and in years gone bye)! I have been shipping art out everyday this month! Wonderful to know that so many are giving the gift of fine art to someone they love – even if that someone is themselves!

I had the privilege of working with some of the Saatchi Art team at the headquarters in Santa Monica. This was on December 19th and I was there being filmed painting a couple of works. Look for me online at Saatchi Art. Oh and that after my work had been not only featured in the head curator’s New This Week but I was also honored to have had my work included in the printed Saatchi Art 2019 Holiday catalog.

I have many events in the works for 2020 including attending The Other Art Fair in a different city than my home city of Los Angeles ( I had a show there in 2018 ) so watch for news about that some and perhaps I will be close to you. If so that would be great to meet you! You can also view some of my artwork in person as photographs can not really do a painting (mine or anyone’s) justice.

Well I have to get back to it…just a few more days until Christmas and on to the New Year!!

HAPPY  HOLIDAYS!

Nestor Toro
