2020 – A “Memorable” Year!

A special or favorite work can take you to a mental place allowing you to get lost in contemplation and helps to keep a larger perspective.
Since it looks like we will be all spending a lot more time in our homes as more and more will be “sheltering in place” to flatten the curve for the foreseeable future. During this stressful and difficult time it is more important that ever that we take care of ourselves and one of those ways it to pay close attention to our environment and the very real effect that it can have on our mental health and resolve.
I think in these troubling times that artwork can be very helpful. Art lifts our spirits. Art can motivate us to push through trying times and could transform your space into a sanctuary from the uncontrollable conditions and events going on in the world.
I invite you to take some time to explore my artwork. Enjoy it for no other reason than taking your mind off of the news! It is always exciting to have a work sold and heading out of the country. This work is part of the popular “A Closer Look” which is ongoing. The work is done in one of my signature styles that I call “Drizzles”. It measures 69×40 inches and was painted in 2019. The work was sold at Saatchi Art! Having sold hundreds of abstract expressionist paintings – which can be found in private collections all over the world on 5 continents and 25 plus countries – I can tell you that I am honored knowing that my art resonates with such a variety of people. I have sold works directly to young professionals who are just starting their collections and told me that they are “finally ready for some art.” I have had seasoned collectors contact me directly as well to inquire about my work. I recall one Japanese college student who purchase a work for her room. I have done the artwork for entire homes (I will have a posting on that shortly) with 15 commissioned works! I have done huge commissions for lofts and Hollywood hills homes…this is just a tiny fraction of the varied collectors Lee and I have worked with.
This however is a new first for me – Saatchi Art’s Best Of The Year for 2019. This collection was curated by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Aurora Garrison. Thank you very much Aurora for adding my work to this collection. This is a very important collection as there are literally hundreds of thousands of works on the Saatchi Art website and just 109 works included so I am in fine company.

The very same week one of my works was selected by Saatchi Art Assistant curator Megan Wright to be included in the Saatchi Art’s collection of artworks using the color to illustrating the new Pantone color of the year which is Classic Blue. Thank you very much Megan, it is an honor to be included the collection of just 90 works!

Goodbye 2019

Reflecting on the past year I would like to thank all of the wonderful collectors who purchased my artwork or had a commission done!
I would also like to thank the galleries who assist in selling my work by exposing it to a vast worldwide audience who would otherwise not be able to enjoy it.
So now that the busy holiday season is coming to a close I think I will kick back in the studio and relax for a moment – I think I deserve it!
Speaking of deserving – don’t you think that new art is just what YOU deserve to start 2020 – a totally new decade?
