I am really pleased to announce that a collector named David from Georgia has purchased 3 of my works! The first is Infinity Stream which as you can see is a bold work with gestural movements coexisting with intricate details creating a rich relationship with each other resulting in a work that is both dynamic and tranquil at the same time! If you are familiar with my artwork (and if not please check out the shop) you know that I paint with no preconceived outcome in mind – I am an artist and I let the image develop as I go. This is not as easy as one would think.
The work measures 38 inches square. This beautiful painting is all about bold details, organic shapes and iridescent effects. layered with warm colors and mediums using palette knives to create rich texture. Completed with many shades of red, orange and Indian yellow. High quality art supplies Sennelier acrylics and UV protected. The work was created in 2016 in Los Angeles California.
I am happy to post that Shimmering Lights (In Paradise) has been sold to a collector via my relationship with Saatchi art gallery. I would like to congratulate Sarah in Chicago for acquiring this wonderful complex work! Thank you very much!
The work is Size: 69 x 38 inches and quite an amazing statement piece. It is a very textured abstract acrylic colorfield, with organic patterns and drips! The entire work is done by hand from the hand cut canvas, the hand applied gesso, and of course the seemingly endless drips and drops and spatters! Many colors contribute to the complexity of this work – blue, yellow, white, teal, and bit of other colors. Signed statement piece. Painted in 2017 by Nestor Toro in Los Angeles
Whether you are buying my art for an investment or simply a wonderful work that “speaks” to you and that you want to own to enjoy each day there has never been a better time to collect my art! Artfinder.com states “The work of Nestor Toro had excellent investment potential having increased in value 93% since 2014.”
This work is a triptych made of 3 20 x 16 inch canvases. I call it Burning Wood and the colors and the movement captured are reminiscent of a fireplace. I always find sitting in front of fire and watching the flames dance around with the ever changing light patterns putting on a show. This work has the same feel for me hence the name. It is now in New York with Roberto. Thank you very much for collecting my art – Nestor Toro – Los Angeles
Contemplative piece with great depth and organic shapes. Most of the colors are the result of color blending using acrylic mediums. This multi canvas work is truly a statement piece. I had a great time working on this painting!!! This is a multi panel artwork each canvas is 16*20 inches.
I was contacted by Voyage LA which is an amazing “online magazine” for all the best of Los Angeles and they wanted to interview me. It is always rewarding to be interviewed and to share my journey becoming an artist. I really think that reading interviews gives insight into the creative process and that people are interested in knowing these things. Nestor Toro – Los Angeles
It is always a happy occasion when I sell one of my works and this is no exception! A collector in Paris has purchased this work and I am excited to have yet another work in a city I have visited in my travels and certainly plan on visiting again! Thank you for acquiring this work – Nestor Toro

I would like to thank John in Germantown, Tennessee for becoming a new collector of my art with the purchase of 2 works! The first is called Distraction from Fire and is 16 x 20 inches. It was painted in 2014. Thank you!
About the work: Many shades of red, dark tones, blue with orange touches. Part of the distraction series, this painting is very layered with bold palette knife strokes. High quality acrylics and canvas and UV protective gloss varnish.
I want to share this painting as it is part of a large commission for a collector in India that I am currently working on…a massive project of 13 works! This is a challenge and will take a lot of mental energy but being a seasoned professional I am certainly up to the task and will be updating my blog with additional work from this project from time to time as I am going to concentrate on it now that the busy holiday season is gone and we are into a new year! Thank you – Nestor Toro L.A. 2018
Here is the work in a bedroom setting – Powerful
I am a painter and my work is pure abstraction. Some might think they are easy to do and that anyone could do them. These people are of course wrong!
Wassily Kandinsky said, “Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw, have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colors and that you are a true poet. This last is essential.“
As you can see the ability to start with a blank canvas and apply color in a harmonious and visually balanced is necessary. Abstract painting is much more than simply throwing or appling random colors in a random manner. Nestor Toro – Painter
